This song was written in 1965 on a cross crounty trap with kris kristofersen in response to the Democratic-National convention being held in Shicago that is where polic. force was beating upo young persons. when they refused to fight in the vet nam war that was pertaining to war in the south pacific. if you read and listenen to the lyrics you can see the symblozim just like poets like jack london square and robert e. grant and other vis a vee french romantics and such,. : ) and i am not racist!!
